The time has come yet again. Pantone has announced not only its “Color of the Year” but also all of the color trends for 2020 we can expect to see!
These colors will pop up all over the place this year in fashion and we have to say we’re pretty excited for the picks!
First things first, introducing Pantone’s Color of the Year 2020, Classic Blue.

According to the Pantone team, Classic Blue instills “calm, confidence, and connection, [while it] highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.” (Pantone)
Who knew a color could do all of that but hey, we’re here for it!
They go even further to say “[a] timeless and enduring blue hue, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue is elegant in its simplicity. Suggestive of the sky at dusk, the reassuring qualities of the thought-provoking PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue highlight our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era…” (Pantone)
Fashion Color Trends for 2020
In addition to the Color of the Year, Pantone announced 12 other “top colors” we can expect to see all over the runways and fashion mags throughout the year as well and I’m digging the combination of vibrant stand out hues mixed with more subtle shades to meet any fashionista’s needs.
“Combining our desire for stability, creativity, and more spontaneous design approaches, the color palette for Spring/Summer 2020 infuses heritage and tradition with a colorful youthful update that creates strong multi-colored combinations as well as energizing and optimistic pairings,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. Obviously I’m walking into 2020 wanting color, color, and more color but who wouldn’t be after seeing these trending shades?
